Summer Intern- Product Management- Hardware Business Products
About the position
This position of the Product Management /Planning Summer Intern, within the Business Products department, will allow the intern to gain in-depth knowledge pertaining to product lifecycle management in a fast-paced, high-technology environment. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable knowledge by working closely with the key department personnel and managers while assisting Sharp in expanding its Business Products Division.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of product life cycle management by gaining an understanding of the tasks involved in the various stages of a product life cycle – in conception, development, launch, growth, maturity, and decline.
- Assist product managers in launching new products whereby gaining a full understanding of key new products
- Assists with the key aspects of the “4 P’s of Product Management” – product, price, promotion & place.
- Learns to identify, compile, and maintain competitive specification matrix for key product segments.
- Analyze purchased market data (BLI & IDC) to compile & graphically display monthly competitive price positioning for key product segments and competitors.
- Aid in the preparation of sales presentations, brochures, announcements and other collateral materials using Microsoft applications as well as AI assisted tools.
- Collects, updates & maintains competitive marketing information.
- Focus on working in a team environment providing critical, hands-on help as needed
- Intern will be guided by the Director in the group but will be encouraged to seek guidance and partner with departmental staff as needed.
- Help prepare for budget meetings, road shows, dealer meetings and other special events that involve preparing and setting up office equipment.
- Help the product team develop appropriate messaging for AI chat function in online configurator.
Requirements
- We are seeking a junior or senior year college student with a strong desire to make a career in business, product management, marketing, sales or supply chain management upon graduation.
- Marketing and General Business majors strongly preferred.
- Any student applying should have a background in or strong interest in cutting edge business technologies, applications and AI.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
- Student should also have strong computing skills, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
- Since the office location in Montvale, NJ, is not accessible by public transportation, interns must have reliable transportation.
